Social platform for music lovers. Built during Buildspace Nights and Weekends S2.
what and why
I wanted somewhere to keep track of albums the way people track books and movies. auriom is that: log what you’ve listened to, rate and review albums, and see what the people you follow are into. I built it in 2022 during Buildspace Nights and Weekends S2.
features
- search — find any album or artist, with catalog data from Spotify
- reviews — rate an album and write about it if you want to
- listening status — mark albums as listened, listening, or want to listen
- shelves — make your own named collections of albums, public or private
- profiles and follows — follow people and see their reviews and shelves
tech stack
- Framework: Next.js and React, started from create-t3-app
- API: tRPC with TanStack Query
- Data: Prisma, hosted on Railway
- Auth: Clerk
- Styling: Tailwind
- Music data: the Spotify Web API
status
most of it was built between October 2022 and January 2023. in January 2026 I moved it from the Pages Router to the App Router.
